Walkin' in a winter wonderland

Well, we got our first snow yesterday.  Usually the first snow melts right away, but it was so cold and kept on snowing all through the night.  We ended up with about 6 inches of snow - maybe more.  The snow usually piles up higher in the backyard and across the street than in our front yard.  I haven't really been in the back this morning.
Ben built his little snowman all by himself.  The neighbors
across the street have a snowman that is about 10 feet tall.
Not really sure how they did that.  Ben did have some trouble building his snowman.  The crazy cat decided that it was too cool and needed to pull his arms off!  Ben was a bit frustrated as he just wanted a
picture with his snowman.  It took a lot to get the cat to leave the arms alone.  But the cat did have fun in the snow.

Shoveling the walk was a work of futility.  The snow was falling harder and harder while we were out there, but we tried.  Word of advice;  Don't buy a house on a corner lot. We shovel about 4 times as much as our neighbors.  It takes forever.  It isn't our favorite activity and we aren't very good at getting it all.  Right now, there is about 1/2 inch on the sidewalks.  Not only that, the snow is really wet and heavy.  Right now we have a tree branch sitting on our cable line.  We are just waiting for it to snap and break the line.  Life without cable!  What will we do?
Well...as much as I hate shoveling the sidewalks, I love the snow.  I was ready for a change of weather.  Don't worry, it will all be melted by Monday - if it will just stop...
